Submersible Pump Selection Steps

List basic data:
1. The characteristics of the medium: medium name, specific gravity, viscosity, corrosiveness, toxicity, etc.
2. The diameter and content (mass or volume percentage) of solid particles contained in the medium
3. Medium temperature: (°C)
4. Required traffic
General industrial pumps can ignore the leakage in the pipeline system in the process flow, but the influence on the flow rate when the process changes must be considered. If the agricultural pump uses open channel water delivery, the leakage and evaporation must also be considered.
5. Pressure: the pressure drop (head loss) in the pressure piping system of the suction pool and the drainage pool
6. Piping system data (pipe diameter, length, type and number of pipe accessories, geometric elevation from suction pool to pressure pool, etc.) If necessary, the device characteristic curve should also be drawn. When designing and arranging pipelines, the following items should be paid attention to:
A. Reasonable selection of pipe diameter Large pipe diameter under the same flow rate, small liquid flow rate, small resistance loss, but high price Small pipe diameter will lead to a sharp increase in resistance loss, which will increase the head of the selected pump, increase the power of the pump, increase the cost and increase the operating cost. Therefore, it should be considered comprehensively from the perspective of technology and economy
B. The discharge pipe and its pipe joint should consider the maximum pressure it can withstand
C. The pipeline layout should be arranged as straight as possible to minimize the accessories in the pipeline and minimize the length of the pipeline. When turning must be made, the bending radius of the elbow should be 3 to 5 times the diameter of the pipeline, and the angle should be greater than 90°C as much as possible.
D. The discharge side of the pump must be equipped with a valve (ball valve or globe valve, etc.) and a check valve to adjust the working point of the pump. (When the liquid flows back, it will generate a huge reverse pressure and damage the pump)

Determine the flow head
Flow Determination
a. If the minimum, normal and maximum flow rates have been given in the production process, the maximum flow rate should be considered
b. If only the normal flow rate is given in the production process, it should be considered to leave a certain margin. For the large flow rate of ns>100 and the unintentional head pump, the flow margin is 5%; for the small flow rate of ns>50, the high-lift pump flow margin Take 10% of the pump flow margin of 50≤ns≤100 and also take 5% of the pump flow margin of poor quality and bad operating conditions should be taken as 10%
c. If the basic data only gives weight flow, it should be converted into volume flow
