Pump Parameter Selection

The water supply pressurization station is an effective measure to alleviate the lack of urban water supply pressure. Its core is to upgrade the pumping station, and the core of the pumping station is the water pump. The choice of water pump not only affects whether the water supply pressurization station can work normally, but the reasonable selection of the pump is more directly related to the operating cost of the pumping station.
Centrifugal pumps are usually used in domestic general water supply pressurization stations. Centrifugal pumps have the advantages of simple structure, no pulsation in infusion, and simple flow adjustment. According to the actual situation of the project, first select the category of the centrifugal pump and make the following considerations.
(1) Determine which characteristic pump to choose according to the characteristics of the medium. Such as clean water pumps, corrosion-resistant pumps, or chemical process pumps and impurity pumps. When the medium is highly toxic, valuable or radioactive, etc., which are not allowed to leak, non-leakage pumps (such as canned pumps, magnetic pumps, etc.) or double-end mechanical seals with leakage collection and leakage alarm devices should be considered. If the medium is a volatile liquid such as liquefied hydrocarbon, a pump with low NPSH should be used, such as a barrel pump.
(2) Select horizontal pumps and vertical pumps (including submerged pump pipeline pumps) according to site installation conditions.
(3) Select single-suction pump, double-suction pump, or small-flow centrifugal pump according to the flow rate.
(4) Select single-stage pumps, multi-stage pumps, or high-speed centrifugal pumps according to the height of the head.
After the above items are determined, the appropriate pump series can be selected according to the characteristics of different series of pumps in various types of pumps and the conditions of the manufacturer. After the type, series and material of the pump are selected, the model of the pump is determined according to the samples and relevant parameters provided by the pump manufacturer.
